On vibrant Somerville Avenue a short walk from Harvard, Union, and Porter Squares, internationally renowned Cambridge Seven Architects has designed a dramatic new take on an upscale select service hotel. Eschewing the “box with punched windows” format of many low-rise select service hotels, Cambridge Seven and award-winning hospitality interior designer Bill Rooney (Four Seasons One Dalton, Peninsula New York, Ritz Carlton Miami) have designed a strikingly modern yet warm addition to one of Greater Boston’s most energetic and forward-looking communities. Cambria Boston-Somerville opened in April 2022. Saunders Hotel Group has been involved in the pre-opening planning phase as well as operating the hotel after opening.
